A new climate change film called The Great Warming will be coming out in selected Regal theaters on Nov 3rd in 34 US cities. The Great Warming is neither political nor pessimistic; instead it goes beyond the science to look at an array of solutions that can be implemented by individuals and communities. It presents climate change as a moral, ethical and spiritual issue. It also features leading African-American climate scientist Dr. Warren Washington, as well as civil-rights leader Dr. Gerald Durley speaking about the relevance of this issue to African-American communities.
Suitable for everyone ages 12 up, the film features many leading scientists, including Kevin Trenberth, Wally Broecker, Steven Schneider, Chris Fields, Klaus Lackner, Warren Washington, Richard Peltier, Cynthia Rosenzweig, Dorothy Peteet, etc., and was vetted by a Science Advisory Panel. The film includes segments about faith initiatives, green building, agriculture and health, as well as many other relevant topics.
The Great Warming has another initiative, Call to Action: http://www.blogger.com/. Join others in signing the United Statement, download information, send for free climate change booklets from NOAA, participate in a peaceful demonstration as part of the Nov 4th National Climate Action Day.
